Already awaiting trial on child pornography charges in Chicago, R. Kelly was arrested Wednesday morning in Miami on additional child porn charges. Authorities said they found 12 photos of a nude girl at the singer's home.

The Polk County sheriff's office, with the assistance of Miami-Dade police, arrested the singer at the Grand Bay Hotel in Coconut Grove, Florida, where he had been staying. Kelly was in town to shoot a video for the remix of his latest single, "Ignition."

Authorities said the charges stem from the discovery of child pornography images during a search of the singer's rented Davenport residence in June. That search was conducted during his initial arrest in Polk County on an Illinois fugitive warrant. Then two search warrants were executed at his home, and 12 digital images were found that depicted an underage female. Three images also depicted Kelly involved in sexual conduct with the female minor, authorities said.

Col. Grady Judd of the Polk County Sheriff's office would not say whether the minor in the digital photos was the same girl who appears in the videotape at the center of the case in Chicago (see "R. Kelly Under Investigation After Sex Tape Surfaces"). Police said they'll continue to investigate before considering any additional charges.

"Even though the evidence was seized last summer, the pictures themselves did not establish a case," said Chip Thullbery, spokesperson for the state attorney's office. "We had to confirm the identity of the girl, establish that the pictures were real, not computer-generated, and all of that takes time."

Kelly was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility before he posted $12,000 bond ($1,000 per count). If convicted, Kelly faces up to five years for each of the 12 felony counts, according to the state attorney's office. An arraignment date has not been set.

"At this point," R. Kelly spokesperson Allan Mayer said, "it looks to us like a classic case of piling on, in which a local jurisdiction tries to make headlines by attaching itself to a celebrity case. As far as we can tell, the charges all relate to R. Kelly's arrest last summer. In other words, there is nothing new here."

Kelly's new album, Chocolate Factory, has been pushed back to February 18. The "Ignition" video shoot will proceed as planned, according to a label spokesperson.

This is all for today (and if there's anyone you want me to look up and find the latest news on just tell me and I'll check into it casue I'm trying to liven' up this forum lol :grin )

At the American Music Awards two weeks ago, Justin Timberlake was pretty secretive about his upcoming concert plans. But now that his touring partner Christina Aguilera has spilled the beans, Timberlake feels justified to start yapping about the summer extravaganza.

"It was an idea that both of our managers concocted," he said. "When it came to me I said, 'It sounds really interesting. It would be fun to be on tour with somebody who's that talented' " (see "Timberlake, Aguilera Will Team Up For Summer Tour").

Although some folks have raised an eyebrow at the idea of Justin touring with a supposed rival of Britney Spears, Timberlake wants to downplay any potential controversy, and is quick to sing Aguilera's praise.

"She's got one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard," he said. "That homegirl can sing. She can release a song like 'Dirrty' and get everybody talking, and then release a song like 'Beautiful' and say, 'Look, this is why I am standing here.' She's bad. That's the Christina that I met on the TV show that we did ['The All-New Mickey Mouse Club'] , and that's the Christina that will be around 10 years from now."

One of reasons Timberlake is eager to hit the road with Aguilera is because he's confident enough in his abilities as a singer and performer to not worry about being upstaged. Once he starts specifically talking about his show, he starts to sound like a self-aggrandizing WWE wrestler.

"I'm gonna make an arena feel like a club," he boasted. "I want people to feel like they're a part of the show and it's a party. Anybody who sits down during the show will get kicked out. If you sit down, once I find you, you will get booted."

Before Timberlake and Christina hit the road, Justin will re-enter the studio to tinker with new material. And next month he'll shoot the video for "Rock Your Body," the next single from Justified. A director for the clip will be chosen in the coming days.

If he's looking to ruffle feathers with the video, he'll have a tough time topping the audacity of "Cry Me a River," which depicted a heartbroken Justin watching a Britney look-alike getting in another man's car. Then Timberlake breaks into her house and leaves a tape of him groping another girl running on her TV (see "Justin And Britney At War, Magazine Cover Story Declares").

Naturally, the footage provoked a flood a commentary from fans — which was actually Timberlake's goal. He said the clip was his way of commenting on the way the media has portrayed his love life, and he doesn't regret having filmed it.

"I knew what I was doing," he said. "When you become a product of the media's rumor mill you kinda get this 'thing' about you. It was a chance for me to use it and do a little reversing. To go, 'Now I've got all of you in the palm of my hand.' "

Since Timberlake released Justified, many critics have stopped talking about his love life and started focusing on his music. For him, being taken seriously as a musician is one of his greatest achievements, and it makes it easier to stomach the rumors that circulate like buzzing flies and the reporters that still want to dig for dirt.

"Regardless of what you do, rumors are gonna be around," Timberlake shrugged. "I'm sure when Eminem goes to do an interview they still wanna ask him about [ex-wife] Kim and his mom. And I'm sure he don't wanna talk about it just like I don't wanna talk about all this bullsh-- either. But it's just part of what we do. Unfortunately it's entertaining for people. They want to know about what you do when they don't see you."

When Britney Spears drops her new album this fall, don't be surprised to find a little reminder of her relationship with Fred Durst.

The Limp Bizkit frontman is among the producers working on Spears' as-yet-untitled new album, due in October, according to a Jive Records spokesperson. Durst has produced one unnamed track thus far, but it — as well as everything else that has been done for the follow-up to 2001's Britney — is not guaranteed to wind up on Spears' fourth LP.

Durst found time to helm the Spears tune while working on Limp Bizkit's new album, tentatively titled Less Is More, due in April. According to the band's Web site, www.limpbizkit.com, they've just about completed the new LP, their fourth, which is expected to include songs called "Build a Bridge" and "Crack Pipe," the latter having already been tapped as the first single (see "Durst Talks Bizkit LP, Which Now Includes A 'Crack Addict' "). Durst wrote in a post that 18 songs were completed, but only 10 or 12 will make the album's final cut.

Those familiar with Durst's posts on the Bizkit site know that he had been fawning over Spears earlier this month, claiming, among other things, that "he had never felt this way [about anyone] before"

It's not quite "Luda & Stitch" or "The Lil' Mermaid," but Ludacris and Lil' Kim are taking on roles not usually reserved for rappers.

Luda and Kim will star in the cartoon comedy "Lil' Pimp," due in theaters in October, according to a Columbia Pictures spokesperson who described the movie as "South Park" meets hip-hop.

Mystikal also provides a voice in the movie, which is based on an Internet cartoon series created by former journalists Mark Brooks and Peter Gilstrap.

Brooks voices the title character, whose only friend is a foul-mouthed gerbil named Weathers (Ludacris).

Lil' Pimp is an outcast living in suburbia until he meets working girl Sweet Chiffon (Lil' Kim), who takes him to the hip-hop club Playground to meet master pimp Fruit Juice, voiced by Bernie Mac.

The youngster excels in the world of pimping, but his new life is threatened by the city's scheming mayor, Tony Gold (William Shatner).

Carmen Electra, Jennifer Tilly ("Liar Liar"), John C. McGinley ("Scrubs") and Gilstrap also provide voices in "Lil' Pimp."

Ludacris, who debuted on the big screen in a small role in "The Wash," recently wrapped "The Fast and the Furious 2" (see "Ludacris Will Rule Road In 'Fast And The Furious 2'") and has committed to a comedy he's producing called "Skip Day" and another called "Radio" (see "Ludacris Tapped To Star In 'Radio' Flick"). His third album, Chicken and Beer, is due in the spring.

Lil' Kim has appeared in "She's All That" and "Juwanna Mann" (see "Lil' Kim Headed To Big Screen For 'Juwanna Mann'") and has roles in "This Girl's Life" and "Guns and Roses" in her future.

Mystikal starred alongside Snoop Dogg in Master P's 1999 thriller, "Hot Boyz."

On "In Da Club," 50 Cent rhymes about wanting the fans to love him like "they love Pac," and pretty soon, everyone will get to hear a dream pairing of the two headline magnets.

A yet-to-be-titled collaboration between Queens' king of the streets and Tupac will be hitting the mixtape circuit in a couple of weeks, courtesy of DJ Whoo Kid.

"We're still working on it, trying to make it a club banger," said Whoo Kid, who was one of the first DJs to consistently feature 50 on his mixtapes and has since been DJing shows for the G-Unit. "It's the old Pac, going crazy. We're going to drop it when 50's album [Get Rich or Die Tryin'] is coming out [February 11]" (see "50 Cent Says He's Capitalizing On Arrest, Doesn't Mind Being Bootlegged").

Whoo Kid said on Thursday he got the unreleased Tupac vocals from Snoop Dogg and Daz and decided that his friend 50 would be the best person to rhyme with the icon.

The DJ was also behind last year's pairing of 50 and Notorious B.I.G. on "The Realest," which infiltrated airwaves after getting love underground. "It's the biggest illegal street hit ever," boasted Whoo Kid, who admitted receiving the DAT of Biggie's vocals from a thief. "All the radio stations are playing it. I know if Biggie was alive, he would do a song with 50. People loved Biggie so much, now they love 50 just the same. [I knew] the combination would make history."

Like "The Realest," Whoo Kid said that the 50 and Tupac song probably won't be cleared to be on anybody's album — it will just be another mixtape classic for collectors to scoop up.

"That's how crazy I am," the DJ laughed, sitting in a Los Angeles studio working on a track for his upcoming album with Ludacris. "I just do street viruses. Pac and 50 is gonna be another street virus. It's sick!"

At least 95 people were killed and authorities expect the number to rise as they investigate a fire that engulfed a Rhode Island nightclub Thursday night. More than 180 people suffered injuries that ranged from smoke inhalation to severe burning.

The Station, in West Warwick, about 15 miles southwest of Providence, caught fire at about 11 p.m. as a result of a pyrotechnic mishap during the first song by heavy metal band Great White, best known for their 1989 hit "Once Bitten Twice Shy." A spark or flame apparently ignited foam soundproofing or insulation on the wall behind the stage and spread throughout the venue within minutes, leaving little more than one wall standing by the time firefighters extinguished the blaze a few hours later.

At least 187 people were taken to local medical centers, many with severe burns and others injured as a result of being trampled as they attempted to exit. Twenty-five of those dead were found near the front door, and dozens were unaccounted for in the early morning hours after the fire.

"They were completely burned," West Warwick resident Michelle Craine told the Associated Press. Craine was one of the many people still awaiting news on missing friends feared dead in the blaze.

A witness told The Providence Journal about 300 people attended the concert, though authorities said the Station was not at capacity. Among those who were still missing in the hours immediately following the disaster were Great White's guitar player Ty Longley and a local radio DJ who introduced the band onstage. The exact number of people in the club is still being determined.

"It went up like a Christmas Tree," Great White singer Jack Russell told The Providence Journal. "I was trying to put it out with a bottle of water. I turned around and the building was engulfed. My soundman is injured. I'm on my way to the hospital."

Approximately 100 people were ushered out of the club by rescuers. Bodies were still being discovered and taken away more than 12 hours after the fire started, as pieces of the collapsed structure were removed piecemeal.

The Station disaster is the worst loss of life to occur at a U.S. rock show, far eclipsing the stampede that occurred at a 1979 Who concert in Cincinnati, which claimed 11. There have been other nightclub disasters, however, that have been worse: Four hundred ninety-one people perished in 1942 when the Boston club Cocoanut Grove caught fire, and 167 died in 1977 at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky.

Although fire officials estimated that the blaze swept through the club in just three minutes, lives may have been saved had people immediately recognized the danger. When the wall behind the performing band caught fire and flames crept toward the ceiling, many members of the crowd thought the display was part of Great White's stage show. Only when a significant portion of the wall was ablaze did panic ensue.

"I don't think this is supposed to be like that," one employee of the club told another. "We need to leave."

Thick black smoke then consumed the room and the lights went out, causing a chaotic rush toward the one exit most patrons used to enter. Although fire officials noted that all four of the venue's doors were working, many people attempted to climb through broken windows in order to escape. The band fled through the back door.

"I ended up walking out the back door, by the kitchen door," the employee also said. "I thought [my co-worker] was right with me, but she wasn't."

Crews were still dousing the flames at 1:50 a.m.

Hundreds of firefighters and police officers, and dozens of EMS workers from neighboring areas as far as Massachusetts, rushed to the scene, and rescuers were pulling injured victims to a makeshift triage area set up across the street from the venue. From there they were taken to one of at least six hospitals by buses and ambulances, and the more severely burned were transported by helicopters.

Eighty-one people sought treatment at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence; 10 of which were transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Of the 71 admitted, 25 were in critical condition. Eighteen patients had to be intubated and put on a respirator to assist breathing. The severity of the burns ranged from two percent of a victim's body to 50 percent. Nearly all those treated suffered from smoke inhalation.

Five firefighters received medical treatment and were later released.

In a press conference Friday afternoon (February 21), hospital surgeons said those in the worst condition had a 50 to 60 percent survival rate. As of Friday afternoon, no one had died in a hospital.

After the initial burn treatment of cleaning the damaged skin area and re-hydrating the patients to prevent kidney failure, doctors will be administering antibiotics and watching for infection, a dangerous and possibly deadly repercussion of any major burn. Rehabilitation for some victims may take months.

Identifying the victims and notifying their families is the primary directive for authorities. Police have been examining the license plates of nearby parked cars for possible clues to those still missing.

Great White's Russell told reporters on the scene that the band's use of pyrotechnics was approved by the club.

"My tour manager deals with that. We always have permission because we never just go into a place ... We only do it when it's safe. If he says, 'Yeah, it's safe,' then we'll use it. If he says, 'No, you can't use it here, the walls are flammable or the ceiling's flammable,' then we won't use it. It's not a big deal."

The Station's owners and a stage technician, however, claimed to be unaware that any such special effects would be employed.

"At no time did either owner have prior knowledge that pyrotechnics were going to be used by the band Great White," read a statement issued by Kathleen M. Hagerty, Esq., an attorney representing the Station owners. "No permission was ever requested by the band or its agents to use pyrotechnics at the Station and no permission was ever given."

Great White performed at New Jersey's Stone Pony on Valentine's Day, and in a press conference on Friday, owner Dominic Santana said the band used stage pyro without permission.

"Not once were we told that there were going to be any pyrotechnics whatsoever," Santana said. "I was in the back office [when the flashpots and sparklers] went off, and heard through the radio communications, 'What the hell is going on?'

"So we did not know that they were going to have pyrotechnics or we would not have allowed them to have pyrotechnics."

A multi-agency investigation involving state and local police and fire marshals, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, is underway, in the hopes of finding why the fire occurred, and who, if anyone, is liable. Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch said the culprit(s) may face criminal charges.

"You had no business setting off pyrotechnics in that building, as far as I can say," observed Governor Donald Carcieri, who arrived on the scene from Florida Friday morning, upon receiving news of the incident. "So somebody made a bad decision, and we don't know whether they were permitted to or not."

Venues require a certificate of competency and a permit to use pyrotechnics indoors. A fire official told CNN that the Station applied for a permit to use pyrotechnics, but it had not been granted.

"People were here to dance and enjoy themselves," said Fire Marshall Jesse Owens. "Somebody made a decision to set off those pyrotechnic displays, and it started the fire. It didn't need to happen. It shouldn't have happened."

The Station was not equipped with sprinklers, though West Warwick Fire Chief Charles Hall said that based on the venue's square footage, sprinklers were not required.

Family members can call (401) 462-7111 for victim information.

The tragedy struck just four days after a disaster in a Chicago club, E2, left 21 people dead and more than 50 injured. That incident was the result of a mass rush to flee the nightclub after a security guard used pepper spray to dispel a fight.

Following the tragic event of last weekend when 21 people died in a Chicago nightclub, friends and family of those lost are left with only agony and an array of questions.

Chicago Police will only confirm that a "disturbance" on the club's dance floor and the spraying of a "chemical agent" into the air played a role in the incident. However, one patron at the second-floor club on the night of the incident paints a detailed and horrific portrait of the events that occurred.

The 20-something man from the south Chicago suburbs, who prefers to remain anonymous, said that the domino effect of terrible events began in the early morning hours on Monday when a fight broke out between two women. The club's security guards then attempted to quell the brawl by spraying pepper spray into the air, according to the witness.

The crowd began to choke on the fumes and people rushed for the front exit to the stairs. Many removed their shirts, holding them over their faces to wipe their eyes and to keep from ingesting the spray. Some even vomited or passed out.

In what the witness viewed as an attempt to help, security guards moved to block those pushing to the exit, fearing that the rush of people shoving to reach the stairwell was becoming dangerous. However, at least one lawsuit filed in the wake of the tragedy characterizes the actions of the security team differently, alleging that guards "locked, blocked or otherwise obstructed the means of egress or exit from the second level of the premises to the exit below." Chicago Police, however, said that guards did not try to block the front exit.

Whatever the cause, the human gridlock took an immediate and grave toll. People were crushed and suffocated, while others suffered cardiac arrest.

Upstairs, the witness was surveying his options. "I could see people shoving each other but I knew I couldn't get out that way," he said of the front exit to the stairs. In the end, he survived by remaining calm, staying put, and waiting the pandemonium out. "It took like two hours before things were clear," he said. "I went by the stage and just stayed there and prayed."

A wrongful death suit filed by the family of one of the victims against Dwayne Kyles, E2's owner, and Calvin Hollins Jr., a consultant to the club, also alleges that the club was "packed beyond capacity with over 1,500 patrons" and that "all of the exits to the club, except the front doors, were either locked or blocked" in violation of fire codes. The suit also charges that E2 failed to hire qualified employees to provide security and crowd control to properly control the crowd. In addition, the suit claims, E2 did not properly train its employees in crowd control and the use of pepper spray in confined areas.

This is not the first time a tragic incident occurred at the club, but this was by far the worst. The police have responded to at least 80 incidents, including shootings, in and around the club since 2000, and in 1996, a 25-year-old woman accused Mike Tyson of sexually assaulting her at E2, which was previously known as the Clique, among other names.

It is also unclear whether or not the club was even cleared to open for business on the night in question. Police claim that they had ordered the club closed for structural and safety reasons, while club owners said that the order pertained only to E2's VIP rooms, which were not open on the night of the tragedy.

It was not unusual to see stars frequenting the venue, which may have been part of its appeal. R&B singer Avant held a party at E2 the night before the stampede, 50 Cent held an event a few weeks prior to the incident, and R. Kelly, Common and Twista have all performed at the club in the past.

R. Kelly recently announced that he will give $3,000 to the families of those who died. Local urban music radio stations WCGI and Power 102 are planning benefit concerts to raise funds. In addition, Operation PUSH, an organization started by Jesse Jackson and which counts the club owner's father, the Rev. Billy Kyles, among its founding members, is collecting donations to absorb funeral costs for the 21 victims.

A memorial service will be held for the victims at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Police are still investigating the incident, and no one has been arrested. The department has additionally opened an internal investigation into whether one of its own officers, Donald D. Crayton, was working off-duty as a bouncer at E2 on the night of the incident. In Chicago, off-duty officers are not allowed to work as bouncers at establishments that serve alcohol.
