Lining Up for a Fall? Everyone's Brilliant in 'Upfront Week' By Lisa de Moraes ABC will also move "The Wonderful World of Disney" to Saturday because nothing is sacred, and because it will enable the network to give its Sunday series "Alias" a drama-series lead-in at 8 that night. (ABC thinks that will help "Alias." Of course, ABC also thought a post-Super Bowl broadcast would help "Alias.") After "Alias, "The Practice" is returning to the Sunday time slot from which ABC yanked it earlier this season. The whole article can be found here:Upfront Week Article

Olin Hopes For Alias Return
Lena Olin, who played Irina Derevko on ABC's Alias, told SCI FI Wire that she is trying to work out her schedule to return in the series' upcoming third season. "I couldn't be [a regular], because I live in New York," Olin said in an interview. "I'll see if we can work it out so that I can work a chunk of time [in Los Angeles, where the show is filmed]. There are two other [films] that I want to do that I want to fit in with the Alias schedule, and so I don't know how it's going to work out."
Olin added that the season-ending cliffhangerin which Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) wakes up two years after being presumed deadshocked the cast as much as it did viewers. "That was a surprise to everybody in the cast as well," Olin said. "Nobody knew about that." Alias airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Here's the snippit about Alias from Kristin's CHat at: EOnlineantistar asks: please please please tell me you've got info on who's staying-who's going on Alias. Kristin replies: I'm still pulling out my hair trying to get word on Bradley Cooper -- rumor is he won't be a regular next season, but I have not been able to confirm. Intel is SERIOUSLY well guarded at the moment. I do know that Greg Grunberg will be a regular (and also the star of JJ Abram's next ABC drama -- about bounty hunters -- for next fall) and that Lena Olin will be back for at least one episode.

From an interview with J.J. Abrams in Cult Times Special, Vol. No. 26, about the cliffhanger:
"There's no virtual reality/dream state, this is all happening."
He said that he thinks they're on the verge of some of the most interesting stuff they've done, we'll understand it when we see it played out, it will be interesting in terms of character, yadda yadda yadda.
He said that they have ideas for each season, but some don't get done and sometimes new ones come up that they do instead. They had things that were planned for the first and second seasons that they haven't gotten to yet.
He said that they think of "Alias" as being out of Time, in that it has no particular time frame, and they try to stay away from current references as much as possible

From Kristin's Latest Chat at EOnlinesagecinnamon asks: You keep refering to Vagun's new wife as evil...is she really, or do we just hate her cause she stole our man? Kristin replies: The latter. Vaughn of Satan! No word yet on who they've cast, but ABC's party is tomorrow night so I will do everything short of whoring myself to Andy Dick to find out. gr8writer asks: What, 45 minutes and no Alias scoop? I think that must be some kind of record! Please tell me you have some. Kristin replies: There's a hole in my heart that can only be filled by Will or Vaughn ... I'm hearing our girl Amanda Foreman will def. be back next season, and her storyline with Marshall will go forward. Whee! Also, Greg Grunberg is slated for nearly every episode. Also, if I can't get good scoop tomorrow night, send Xanax

From ABC MedianetThe electrifying Emmy Award-winning spy drama "Alias" returns for an emotionally gripping third season in the life of CIA agent Sydney Bristow. In her Golden Globe Award-winning role, Jennifer Garner stars in this non-stop thrill ride through espionage, adventure and heart-wrenching drama. Traveling around the world incognito. Fighting with the bad guys. Wrestling with inner demons. For Sydney, this is a typical day in her life at her not-so-typical job as an agent for the CIA. Since shutting down the malevolent Alliance of Twelve and slamming the door on SD-6, Sydney thought she had finally rid the world of a great evil and avenged the murder of her fiancé. But as she and her CIA colleagues strategically combated the ruthless Arvin Sloane (Ron Rifkin) to put an end to his obsessive search for Rambaldi, she was deceived by her best friend and roommate, Francie - who had been eliminated and doubled by Sloane. Upon mysteriously awakening in Hong Kong after fighting with doppelganger Francie in Los Angeles, Sydney learned that two years had passed and everyone presumed she was dead... and she has no recollection of those years. Returning to the world she once knew will turn out to be both enlightening and painful, as Sydney searches to discover where she has been and what has transpired during the missing time. She will soon learn that her memories contain pivotal information that various members of the intelligence world are interested in -- and may kill for. "Alias" stars Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, Victor Garber as Jack Bristow, Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane, Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn, Carl Lumbly as Marcus Dixon, Kevin Weisman as Marshall Flinkman, Greg Grunberg as Eric Weiss and David Anders as Mr. Sark. "Alias" was created by J.J. Abrams, who executive-produces the series along with John Eisendrath, Ken Olin, Alex Kurtzman-Counter and Bob Orci. The series, which is filmed in Los Angeles and premiered on September 30, 2001, is from Touchstone Television.

From Kristin at EOnline: Anonymous writes "I Scream, You Scream... Just when you thought the wait for new eps of Alias couldn't get any worse...whammo! Greg Grunberg (now a series regular--hurrah!) had to go and tell me this at ABC's party Tuesday night: "I got the first script yesterday, and I absolutely freaked out. At the end of the first episode, there is something revealed to Sydney and to us that is so shocking my wife, Elizabeth, screamed when I told her. This reveal is so huge I don't know how Sydney will deal with it." That makes two of us, honey-child. Greg (who dropped 25 pounds over the hiatus) also revealed that at the advent of the third season almost every major character--including Daddy Bristow--has gone through a life change (many of which were a result of thinking Sydney was dead) and that we see plenty of his character, Weiss. "I'm in almost every scene in the first episode," he said excitedly. "I'm not kidding. JJ Abrams said this episode could be called 'Weiss.' " Also much loved and in attendance at the press fete were David Anders (Sark) and Kevin Weisman (Marshall), who revealed some surprising A-list casting. After Anders said they are looking for a "David Bowie-like villain," Weisman chimed in that David Bowie himself (!) could land the role. "I know David has expressed interest in doing the show," Weisman said. "But they're trying to work it out. He's a very busy man--he's a rock star!" And oh, how he would rock. Now more good news, followed by (prepare yourself) the rip-your-heart-out bad. "I heard Merrin Dungey will be coming back for a few episodes," Grunberg said. "Hopefully a bunch of episodes, but Bradley Cooper has some great opportunities coming at him, so I don't know. We're all saying 'Damn him!' because we love him so much." Hear that? It's the sound of my heart breaking.

This is from Angel over on AllAlias.com and she got it from Manu on SD-1.com. Here's what she wrote about episode 1. " - Yes vaughn is no longer working for the CIA and yes, he *is* married.( thats basiclly all I know about Vaughn except for the fact that Syd kicks his ass in the opening scene. - Syd goes to see Jack( he in Irina's cell) he tells her that he and Irina were/are working together and gives Sydney some very intresting info that confuses the hell out of me. - The reason they thought Sydney was dead is because they found body part DNA evidence in her burnt up house. - There's a new CIA director, higher than Kendall was (Kendall's gone) and Dixon taking Kendall's place. - Syd goes on a mission with Wiess and a new CIA chick. - Sark's in the episode and is Free. - Syd kills(yea, present) a bunch of people. - Sloane helped CIA to catch other terrorist and got immunity. - Syd/Sloane scene Enjoy! Thanks to Angel and Manu for the info. Vicky
