Whatever Happened to the Cast of Dawson's Creek?

If you were hoping for a reunion, that was quashed, in April 2014, by series maker Kevin Williamson in an interview with "Entertainment Weekly".

James Van Der Beek played the lead role of the aspiring director Dawson Leery. To date it is his best known role. However, even after the end of the series in 2003, the actor has been seen repeatedly on TV and on the big screen. He has had three guest appearances on "How I Met Your Mother" as an ex-friend of Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), played himself in the series "Apartment 23" and was in the movie "Labor Day" (2013) beside Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. Van der Beek is married and has three children.

Katie Holmes played Joey Potter, Dawson's neighbor. She has had several major film roles, including "Do not hang up!" (2002) beside Colin Farrell, as well as Bruce Wayne's girlfriend in "Batman Begins" (2005). However, she made the headlines, especially with her personal life: From 2006 to 2012 she was married to Tom Cruise and they had a daughter named Suri. Since the divorce Holmes has concentrated more on her film career and recently starred in the movies "Days and Nights", "Miss Meadows," "Mania Days" and "The Giver".

Joshua Jackson played the role of Pacey Witter, who at the beginning of the series had an affair with his teacher and later got together with Joey. Prior to his time with "Dawson's Creek" he was successful as an actor in the series "Mighty Ducks". From 2008 to 2013 he starred in the series "Fringe - Cross Files". Since 2006, Jackson has been dating with the German actress Diane Kruger ("Inglourious Basterds").

For Michelle Williams, who played the big city girl Jen Lindley, her career only really got going after the end of "Dawson's Creek". Her most successful films include "Brokeback Mountain", "Shutter Iceland", "Blue Valentine" and "My Week with Marilyn". She was nominated three times for an Oscar. 2012 she received a Golden Globe for her performance in "My Week with Marilyn". From 2004 to 2007 she was dating her "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Heath Ledger, with whom she has a daughter. Ledger's death in early 2008 was hard on his ex-partner. 2012 to 2013 she was with "How I Met Your Mother" star Jason Segel.

The second season introduced two other performers to the main cast of "Dawson's Creek".

Meredith Monroe played the role of Andie McPhee, who was together with Pacey for a short time and became a good friend of Jen. Then from 2005 to 2009 she played in the series "Criminal Minds" and also had guest appearances in many other television series such as "CSI: Vegas", "Private Practice", "The Mentalist" or "NCIS".

Kerr Smith played Andie's brother Jack, who confessed his homosexuality throughout the series. Smith was also known for his role in the teen horror film "Final Destination". Later he was in series such as "Charmed - Magical Witches" (2004-2005), "Justice - Not guilty" (2006-2007) and "Life Unexpected (2010-2011).
